In This Path of Life

In this life there will be many people who cross our paths, but sometimes there are few who leave such a lasting impact on our lives. I have had the blessing of meeting someone special who has left such a profound impact on me.

I met this gentlemen back in 2007 at the church I belong to. When I first met him, I thought he was just a nosey guy, you know those type of people who just want to get all up in your business? Well that's what I thought he was trying to do, until I had the chance to know him better.

We've had many conversations, but on this particular evening we were on the phone having a enjoyable conversation and out of the blue he asked me, "What is on your heart?" I thought to myself, okay why is he asking me this?" I got very quiet and tried to avoid answering the question. You may say that's not an unusaul or difficult question, but for me it was a very difficult question. You see, I was the type of person to hold my feeling inside for fear that people would think I was weak or vulnerable. Yes, afraid of people getting to know the sensitive, tender side of me and yes, it may sound strange!!! So when he asked that question, I immediately got quiet and wanted to end the conversation. Well, he wasn't having it, he would not allow me to get off the phone, unless I hung up on him. (which I would have never done. :)) I began to get emotional because this was a difficult place for me to enter. He told me, "You don't have to run from the pain anymore, and you don't have to say a word, just go on and let it out." WOW!!! Why did he say that, it seemed everything that I have ever dealt with emotionally came out, all the tears I never cried ,all the hurt and pain that I have endured and held on to, it all spilled out.

This man, this angel, through his gentleness, kindness and love helped me to expose a side of me that I was afraid to show. Some may say, that's nothing, but to me it was huge hurdle to overcome and I sometime wonder had not met him or if he had not been the willing vessel to be used by God, would I still be in that bondage of fear. Thank you Lord!!!! He has been an encourager, protector, confidant and a cherished friend. I am truly blessed and grateful to have him in my life.

We sometimes wonder why a person is in our life, well I believe that God never makes a mistake!!!

Changes

Has God been shifting some things around in your life? Taking you from your familiar routine and maybe it doesn’t feel good?

Well, we tend to be a creature of habit, always wanting things to remain the same, we want what feels comfortable, and we simply don’t like to embrace change. So, maybe it appears that God is shifting some things around in your life and maybe it’s not going the way you would have liked or planned.

Exodus 14:10 says, When Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites looked up, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and the Israelites were exceedingly frightened and cried out to the Lord.

Does that sound familiar? That is what we sometimes do when we are taken out of our comfortable position, we become fearful or worried.

Verse 11-12 says, and they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way and brought us out of Egypt? Did we not tell you in Egypt, let us alone; let us serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

The Israelites did not like the changes that would take place; they wanted to go back to what was familiar. Just as we do, we sometimes want to be left in our comfortable position, a place where we are familiar with the routine. The Israelites began to lack faith in God and their fear caused them to forget what He had had already done in their lives. Have you also been lacking faith in God? Has fear or worry caused you to forget what God has already brought you through? God says, “I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the very close and consummation of the age.” And He will never in any way fail you nor give up nor leave you without support. He says, (I will) not, (I will) not (I will) not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let (you) down (relax My hold on you)!

God wants to elevate you to a new place that He has promised you. But in order to do that, He has to shift some things around in your life.

Verse 13-14 says, Moses told the people, “Fear not; stand still (firm confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.”

Do not worry; be still, have faith, for God is positioning you for what He is about to do in your life. Reflect on what He has already done and know that He is a God who is faithful to His promises.

Verse 15-20 (paraphrased) says, The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the people of Israel to go forward! Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it; and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. The Egyptians shall realize that I am the Lord when I have gained honor and glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen. And the Angel of God Who went before the host of Israel moved and went behind them; and a pillar of the cloud went from before them and stood behind them. Coming between the host of Egypt and host of Israel was a cloud and it gave darkness to the Egyptians, but it gave light to the Israelites.”

God told Moses to tell the children of Israel to go forward. We also have to continue to move forward, though it may not feel good and it may look impossible in our own strength, but with God all things are possible. His strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in (your) weakness.

The Angel of God was traveling ahead and paving the way for the Israelites. You are not alone, that precious Angel is doing the same for you. He is traveling ahead and moving things out of the way, so that you will be able to enter this new place that God has prepared for you. So, whatever shifting around God is doing in your life, do not be afraid or worried. Put your faith not in your own ability or strength, but in God’s. He is able to (carry out His purpose and) do super abundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thought, hopes and dreams). Be still and know that He is God!

The Peace of God

The peace of God is a place that we can freely enter.
This peace is not as the world gives, but only as the Creator of peace can give (John 14:27)
A place that is absent of fear, worry, intimidation, stress and loneliness.
A place of freedom, that is personal and between you and God.
This peace is a place of contentment, that is calm and serene.
A place where we can fully rely on and trust in God.
For the word of the Lord is saying that, I will keep you in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on Thee. Because you trust in Him. (Isaiah 26:3).
This kind of peace gives courage, strength and unspeakable joy.
Let this peace of God reside in you and gaurd your heart and mind.
Always being mindful to give thanks to God for His blessing of peace upon you.

HIS DIVINE POWER

In this day and age when many of us are going through difficult trials, situations or dilemmas and everyone around you seems to be so involved in their own dilemma, its difficult to see God’s hand moving in your situation and its taking all your strength not to give in and give up. So you hold on anyway, by that single thread of strength.

Well, that single thread, that kind of strength that you are holding on to, cannot be your own. It can only be from God. It’s not that you are not strong, but He is stronger. 2Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power is given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue”. HIS DIVINE POWER! We have to understand that God is so much Bigger and Greater than we think. He is beyond our thought realm, our idea, and concept that we have of Him. (Isaiah 55:8 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are my ways your ways,” Says the Lord.) There is nothing beyond His ability.

So, no matter what you are going through, you have the blessed assurance of God’s love and His promises. You can solely rely on Him, that He has all the strength and power you need. It’s guaranteed, because His promises are forever. There is nothing beyond His ability, whether it’s a marriage to be reconciled, debt cancellation, a memory to be healed, a sin to be forgiven, healing and wholeness in your body, whatever it is that is paralyzing you, God can heal it. Take it to Him. Imagine this for a minute, if God has the power to create and sustain the universe, how can you think His power is insufficient for you? He says in II Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Stand on His promises! He is more than able to sustain your marriage, finances, faith, hope, and health. HIS DIVINE POWER has given to us, everything we need, all the strength and all the support we need, it’s in Him.
Could it be that just maybe we need to stop relying on ourselves and rely on Him? Psalms 55:22 says, Cast your cares on the Lord. Humble yourself before Him because He promised to lift us up. (Psalm 147:6)
