Even when it doesn't feel like it, God is at work in our lives.
We all have been in that place when it seems that God is silent. You have called out His name, you have prayed and prayed, but still you sense silence. And yes, this silence can be difficult and frustrating.
The Bible tells us about God's servant Job, who knew God's silence. When Job was suffering and in pain he cried out to God, he prayed and prayed for answers, but his cry for help was met by God's silence.
Just as Job did not hear God's voice, we are not going to always hear His voice. But Job gives us a testimony that we can benefit from when God seems silent. Sometimes we need to just be still and examine our lives. Asking God to bring anything that is not pleasing to Him to mind. Psalm 66:18 says, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear." Ask God for forgiveness of those things that might hinder you from hearing Him. Keep in mind that repentance is an act of faith that restores our relationship with God.
Hebrews 13:5 says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." we have to trust and understand that God is in control and though He may seem silent, He is at work in our lives.
Job 13:15 says, "Though he slay me, yet I will trust Him." There is nothing in our lives that God does not have knowledge of. He is Omniscient. Just as He was aware of things that would happen to Job, we also know the He was fully in control. He never relaxed His hold on Job, and will not on you.
Though God may seem silent concerning your circumstance or petition, we have to remember that He is always in constant communication with us through His Word and in it is the answer to all life's problems, His character and all He has in store for our lives.
And when God did speak to Job, there was no question who was in control! Job 41, if I recall, or thereabouts...awesome!
